About

Hello World! My name is Paul Rodgers.

Here’s a little blog site I created for myself. It’s basically just somewhere to use as a scrapbook  for cutting and pasting links and articles I’d like to keep when I’m surfing. It’s mostly stuff which relates to my faith as a Christian, and a few little personal “dear diary” type of entries once and a while.

I only use 3 categories:

“Personal” is for my own thoughts, but I try to keep them fairly anonymous.

“Salt” is for the morality type stuff and putting the world to rights.

“Light” is for the gospel type stuff and raving about the love of my life – Jesus.

I’ve called myself a “fairly average Christian”, if there is such a thing. We are all unique. God loves variety – you can see that in His creation, but my core beliefs are biblical and reformed. I am born again so that’s why I call myself a “Christian” not just a “christian”. I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, as opposed to someone who has a loose connection with the christian religion through attending “christian” church or belonging to a family or community which has a loosely “christian” tradition.

I became a Christian in 1980, at the age of 16.

Jesus saved my life, and He owns me now.

Responses

  1. In earlier times, salt was used as a preservative, or antiseptic. The influence of Christianity on society could also be seen as a preservative effect on morality, and as an antiseptic against immorality.

  2. When Jesus gave the Sermon On The Mount he was possibly talking about the town of Safed. Even at night the city could be seen from the valley below

Be salt and light to a crooked and perverse genration!

    Amen

  3. Good to see your blog on this subject. We have long
had a book, and lately a free ebook, with this title. Just good to see the concept spreading…
